• The annual production capacity is 50MWp with further expansion planned up to 100 MWp

The start-up of the production line was made by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev. The start-up ceremony was attended by Umirzak Shukeev, the Chairman of the Board of “NWF “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC; Aset Isekeshev, Minister of Industry and New Technologies; Imangali Tasmagambetov, Akim of Astana city; Vladimir Shkolnik, the Chairman of the Board of “NAC “Kazatomprom” JSC and the representatives of French business groups – the partners of the project.
  
The new plant in Astana will produce solar voltaic arrays on the basis of 100% Kazakhstani silicon. The plant is equipped with automated latest generation equipment that meets the highest standards of safety and ecological norms. Estimated capacity of photovoltaic plates, that are planned to produce, will be 50 MW with further expansion up to 100 MW.

Putting on operation of this enterprise will allow slotting 175 Kazakhstani professionals; some of them were trained abroad.   
 
 Products of the plant will be oriented on domestic and international market. Within the framework of marketing work on sales of products, «Astana Solar» LLP has already signed several off-take contracts. The two of them were signed with joint Kazakhstan-French company KATCO (uranium-mining enterprise of AREVA and Kazatomprom) for making the delivery at the enterprises of AREVA group in France.
