The single axis accelerometer now has g-ranges from 2g up to 15g and noise has been reduced to 0.025mg/root (Hz).  

The accelerometer is not only low cost, but also utilises low voltage and power. At less than 10 grams, A40 MEMS accelerometer is lightweight in design and has a rugged EMI resistant packaging, which can withstand environmental vibration and shock typically associated with commercial aircraft requirements.  The unit has no inherent wear-out modes for long life. The MEMS accelerometer is designed for commercial stabilisation and aircraft applications that require high performance and high g-input due to vibration. However, other uses for the accelerometer include seismic monitoring, automotive crash testing and laboratory use where high g-input ranges due to vibration are required. This model uses standard +3.3V DC power and has a ratiometric voltage output. The high performance MEMS accelerometer is available in Australia and New Zealand from Bestech Australia Pty Ltd.
