Both French companies EDF EN and Saint-Gobain are already present in the CIGS business with their subsidiaries NEXCIS (www.nexcis.fr) and Avancis (www.avancis.de), respectively.

The two companies use very different technology approaches: NEXIS is developing CIGS by electrodeposition (wet technique) and Avancis has commercially produced CIGS modules by sputtering+selenization.

NEXCIS, created in 2010, continue to develop the technology based on the past R&D work carried out during the CISel programme and by the Institute Irdep, France.
