Epistar has finally decided to acquire FOREPI, and will be announcing the details of the deal later, according to several Taiwanese media reports.
The leading Taiwanese LED package manufacturer will be exchanging Epistar shares for FOREPI stocks at a rate of 1:3.488, according to a China Post report.
According to another Chinese language Apple Daily report, Epistar was able to seal the deal because Xiamen Sanan Opto gave up its 19.77 percent stake in FOREPI. Sanan Opto may have abandoned investments in the company because of measures imposed by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) that prevent the company from interfering with FOREPI’s management and bars the Chinese company management from becoming FOREPI board members.
With Sanan Opto. being FOREPI’s largest shareholder after acquiring 19.77 percent stock shares in 2012, all eyes on turn on the company and what options is weighing the company after such acquisition? Partner of interest or Blood brothers?
