The Japan Patent Office decided on May 1, 2014 invalidating all claims of JP'094, which is directed to phosphor concentration in the white light LEDs.

Everlight indicates that JP’094 is Nichia’s white light LED patent, therefore this decision will be significantly beneficial to Everlight’s endeavor to enter the Japanese LED market.

Everlight has been continuously investing in the research and development of new product, material, and manufacturing process and enhancing its intellectual property right portfolio throughout the years in order to provide more competitive products. This effort is well received by its customers. Everlight reaffirms its respect towards intellectual property rights and will strike back and take strong positions in protecting the interests of its customers and shareholders.
