French CPV system integrator signed MoU with Mexico Sonora State
 
Heliotrop has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mexico Sonora State for a project called ‘Proyecto 1024 SOLES’.

The State of Sonora is located in the Northern part of Mexico and considered to be one of the sunniest areas worldwide, making it a privileged location for the development of solar energy utility projects. HELIOTROP 1024-sun CPV technology is particularly adapted to such an environment, with little sensitivity to temperature and very high efficiency, over 30% of the sun direct irradiation being converted into electricity.
 
Project 1024 SOLES aims to achieve an electricity cost below 6c$/kWh at a turnkey price of 1USD/Wp by 2020 and to create a complete, sustainable and international value chain. Proyecto 1024 Soles is the next step towards this target after the FASEP 30-kW demonstration and strategic analysis, which was started in October 2012. Proyecto 1024 Soles also include strategic agreements on a utility-scale pilot plant, collaboration on Education and on Research and Development.

Such a project is consistent with the Sonora State Development Plan, which includes as a strategic objective the advancement of clean technologies for the economic development of the State.
