• Sovello produces wafers, cells and modules based on String Ribbon™ technology

Sovello is partially integrated PV company, producing silicon wafers, cells and modules. The wafers are produced by so-called ribbon process (String ribbon™). Although this process uses less electricity than a standard wafer process based on ingot casting and  sawing into wafers, has also several drawbacks. 

In the past, another PV producer,  Schott Solar, stopped its ribbon technology (EFG process) for production of solar wafers.
