II-VI Infrared continues CVD facility expansion for optical diamond
II-VI Infrared, a business unit of II-VI Inc., is continuing expansion of its chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond facility.
Optical CVD diamonds are used in applications such as multispectral laser optics and dielectric windows. Most recently, CVD diamonds have been used to handle extreme laser powers, including those in extreme-ultraviolet lithography. The company’s CVD diamonds are laser-cut to customer specifications and are available in thicknesses from tens of µm to >2 mm, with substrate diameters available up to 80 mm. A wide variety of surface finishes, and material and surface grades are available. II-VI Infrared provides optics to CO2 laser OEMs and laser consumables to CO2 laser users worldwide. Sources :
