According to a news from Digitimes; the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has set up Taiwan's first 8-inch MEMS Open Lab for assisting Taiwan MEMS design houses enter the mass production stage.

The lab allows companies to do R&D and trial production with a small monthly capacity of 1,000-2,000 units.

In addition to frontend manufacturing processes, backend packaging and testing technologies will also be introduced to the lab in the future to offer a complete service for Taiwan MEMS designers.
