Last Call - “Call for Papers”
In mid-December 2011, the European Commission published a green paper titled “Lighting the Future” where the ecological and economical advantages of LED lighting is pointed out.  When comparing Europe on an international level, however, and especially with the USA and Asia, it is clear that Europe needs to take rigorous initiatives in the area of LED technology to facilitate staying competitive on a global scale.

In order to tap the full potential of LED lighting, there needs to be a mutual exchange of scientific knowledge, discussions about new, promising solutions and a network that brings together key players from the areas of science and industry.

The goal of the LED professional Symposium +Expo, for short LpS 2012, taking place for the second time in Bregenz, Austria is to be Europe’s central meeting point for LED lighting technologies.

“With over 50 exhibitors and more than 750 registered international participants, the LpS established itself in its first year as a qualitative leading LED lighting technology event in Europe,” said the event director and publisher of LED professional, Mr. Siegfried Luger when asked about the position of the symposium trade fair.

Like last year, the LpS 2012 will be taking place in the Bregenz Festival House (Bregenzer Festspielhaus) from September 25th to 27th.  Experts from the lighting industry are again invited to hand in their newest findings in the form of an abstract by
February 15th, 2012 (Deadline) by email to symposium@led-professional.com.
Topic areas, content details as well as how the Advisory Board selects the papers are explained at length on the event homepage: www.lps2012.com.

The LED professional Symposium offers experts an international, technical and scientific platform made up of designers, manufacturers and users of LED components, modules and systems for the exchange of information and experiences.

The symposium participants can expect a multifaceted program at the end of September with many prestigious speakers.  As a result of all of the positive feedback for last year’s workshop “Disruptive Innovation Technology”, we are happy to announce that Prof. DDr. Sergei Ikovenko, from MIT in the US, has committed to conducting another special workshop at the LpS2012!
Again this year, parallel to the symposium, there will be an exhibition with the newest achievements from the most diverse areas of LED technology.  The range will be from components, measuring and production technologies to modules and system manufacturers.  Last year’s success made it necessary to expand the exhibition and already 60% of the space has been booked.

The expo offers an excellent chance to present products and services to an international expert audience and to make important networking contacts.

Background information about the event
The LED professional Symposium +Expo is organized by Luger Research e.U.  Among other things, Luger Research publishes LED professional Review, a worldwide acknowledged trade magazine for LED technology and research.  The event will be held at the Festspielhaus Bregenz which was awarded first place in 2011 for the best event center with up to 4,000 seats by the European Organization of Event Centers (EVVC).  Besides the world renowned annual Bregenz Festival, scenes from the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, were filmed here.
