MicroGen Systems, Inc. announced today that it has chosen X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries to produce the first MEMS based energy harvesters for the company. Headquartered in Erfurt, Germany, X-FAB is a multinational semiconductor and MEMS contract manufacturer.

Dr. Robert Andosca, CEO and Cofounder of MicroGen, values this relationship. “MicroGen has selected an establishedcompany with the technical capabilities, processes and capacity to meet our requirements. We are pleased to have chosen such a well-qualified and experienced partner after a very exhaustive selection process.”

Rudi De Winter
, X-FAB CEO, pointed out, “MicroGen has a leading-edge device based on innovative technology that aligns well with our capabilities. We are pleased to have been selected by the company to manufacture its products.”

The process transfer is underway and volume production will begin in the first half of 2013.
