Microprobes for Life Sciences, a leading provider of electrode systems, and Tohoku-MicroTec, a leading Japanese company in the 3D-stacked LSI technology, have signed a strategic alliance for developing and carrying out research on state of the art MEMS based neural interfaces.
Our novel product family, called "Micro-B", intends to offer alternatives for multichannel cortical and deep brain recordings, stimulation, local drug delivery and optogenetic studies.
Based on the precisely controlled electrical and geometrical characteristics of our probes and their carefully designed mechanical properties, their usage lead to highly reproducible and high quality experiments.
Our first designs include 8, 16 and 32 channel acute laminar probes with 1 cm long shanks and 100 µm site spacing. Researchers will have the opportunity to check out the Micro-B 8LP, Micro-B 16LP and the Micro-B 32LP at the Society for Neuroscience Conference 2012 in New Orleans at Booth # 1732.
MLS will rapidly extend our current product family with additional products and also ready to fulfill researchers' individual experimental needs with custom silicon probes, which best fit to their requirements.
