Navy considers Meggitt for MEMS retard sensors designed to measure bomb fuze deceleration
 
U.S. Navy munitions experts needed Micro-Electromechanical System (MEMS)-based retard sensors to function as prototypes to measure deceleration in a bomb fuze for Navy air weapon applications.

They found their solution from Meggitt PLC in Bournemouth, England.

Researchers at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division in Indian Head, Md., announced their intention to award a non-competitive firm fixed price purchase order to Meggitt for the MEMS retard sensors. The value of the contract has yet to be negotiated.
