poLight strengthens its board with the appointment of Keith Cornell as Chairman
Highly experienced telecom executive joins Board to take poLight to the next level.

poLight, the world leader in very high-speed and ultra-low power autofocus actuated lenses, announced the appointment of Keith Cornell as Chairman of the Board.

Keith Cornell joins poLight following the recent successful sale to Samsung of Nanoradio, a Swedish Wi-Fi semiconductor company, where he managed the process of selling an innovative wireless chip developer.

Mr. Cornell brings more than 20 years of proven executive management, sales/marketing development experience in the international wireless, telecom, technology and software industries which will assist poLight’s Board in best guiding the company.

Previously, Keith Cornell served as SVP International at Clearwire, Director at Mobicomp (sold to Microsoft), Chairman of End2End (sold to MACH) and Chairman of Digital Rum. He was also CEO of Empower Interactive and served on the management teams of several leading mobile operators, including O2, where he had direct responsibility for Viag Interkom, Telfort, Digifone and Manx. He was also Interim CEO of Viag Interkom, the German mobile phone operator with over four million subscribers, 4500 employees and revenues of €1.5 billion.

Before joining O2, Keith Cornell held the positions of VP international operations for AirTouch and director, southern Europe, for Vodafone. There, he was a Board director of Omnitel (Italy), MobiFon (Romania), Europolitan (Sweden) and Airtel (Spain). He also held a number of director and senior advisor positions in the telecom industry.

Earlier in his career, Mr Cornell also worked with the management consultancy Marakon Associates in San Francisco, New York and London. He received an MBA from Carnegie Mellon in 1980 and a BS in engineering/economics from Harvey Mudd College.
