India has reached 3.38GW of grid-connected photovoltaics

• India now has around 3.38GW of grid-connected solar installed, according to official figures revealed this week by the country’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

• Wind installations accounts for the cumulative capacity of 22.6 GW.

Perovskite solar cells produced in ambient air by Okinawa’s researchers

Researchers at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University's (OIST) Energy Materials and Surface Sciences Unit have found that growing a type of film used to manufacture solar cells in ambient air gives it a growth boost. The finding, which could make manufacturing solar cells significantly cheaper, was published in Chemistry of Materials.
