Air pollution is one of the major challenges of the 21st century. With multi-million deaths globally attributed to bad outdoor air quality, it is becoming urgent to tackle this problem. Developing and installing air quality sensors (for gas and particles) will allow a better control of our environment.
Our webcast will review all the different market segments where gas and particles sensors are used: from smart homes and smart buildings up to transportation.
Historically, gas sensors were used to control air conditioning in buildings to save energy. But today, we are observing a significant shift from comfort to safety as inhabitants want safe indoor air.
This trend also extends to other environments, such as personal vehicles, public transportation, and homes.
Market forecast in units and value will be described and analyzed. Future prospects in terms of new approaches and new developments will be highlighted.
Speakers:
With almost 20 years of experience in MEMS, Sensors and Photonics applications, markets, and technology analyses, Eric Mounier, PhD provides deep industry insight into current and future trends. As a Fellow Analyst, Technology & Market, MEMS & Photonics, in the Photonics, Sensing & Display division, he is a daily contributor to the development of MEMS and Photonics activities at Yole Développement (Yole), with a large collection of market and technology reports as well as multiple custom consulting projects: business strategy, identification of investments or acquisition targets, due diligences (buy/sell side), market and technology analysis, cost modelling, technology scouting, etc.
Previously, Eric Mounier held R&D and Marketing positions at CEA Leti (France).
He has spoken in numerous international conferences and has authored or co-authored more than 100 papers.
Eric has a Semiconductor Engineering Degree and a Ph.-D in Optoelectronics from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (France).
As Head of Department Devices, Elena Barbarini is in charge of costing analyses for MEMS, IC and Power Semiconductors. She has a deep knowledge of Electronics R&D and Manufacturing environment. Paul Leclaire, PhD works for Knowmade in the fields of RF technologies, Wireless communications and MEMS sensors. He holds a PhD in Micro and Nanotechnology from the University of Lille (France), in partnership with IEMN in Villeneuve-d'Ascq and CRHEA-CNRS in Sophia-Antipolis (France). Paul previously worked in innovation strategy consulting firm as Consultant.

As part of the Commercial & Communication team of Yole Développement (Yole), Fayçal El Khamassi serves as a Global Sales Support & Coordinator. He is in charge of the development of technology & market reports activity and is closely working with the international sales team to support Yole’s customers. For few years, Fayçal is composing business development actions, especially to the attention of major accounts. He has more than 15 years of experience in the “More than Moore” semiconductor marketplace.
Fayçal holds a Beng Honours (Bachelor - Mechanical Engineering) from the University of the West of England, Bristol (England) as well as an Mechanical and Production Engineering degree from University Claude Bernard (Lyon, France).
