September 24-26, 2018 event to be held in Montreux, Switzerland to feature over 45 internationally recognized experts. The final technical program for the Micro, Nano and Emerging Technologies Commercialization Education Foundation’s (MANCEF) annual Commercialization of Emerging Technologies Conference (COMS) has been announced by the conference co-chairs…Prof. Dr. Volker Saile, President of MANCEF and Phillippe Fischer, microtechnology engineer and director of the Swiss Foundation for Research in Microtechnology (FSRM), representing the co- sponsors of this event.
Over 45 speakers including eight keynoters will convene at the elegant Grand Suisse Hotel Majestic in Montreux Switzerland overlooking Lake Geneva and the Savoy Alps from September 24-26, 2018 to discuss the business opportunities to be enabled from a broad range of emerging technologies. The conference will provide the latest information on manufacturing processes, technology transfer, facilities, infrastructure, investment applications and markets as well as addressing regulatory issues, social implications, education and workforce development. In addition to the technical presentations, several panel discussions will address major current and future technology commercialization opportunities and challenges. A September 24 “boot camp” will be conducted for entrepreneurs of startups to help them launch and further grow their organizations. A guided tour of the world-famous CERN accelerator center will take place on September 27.
Dr. Todd Christenson, Program Chair and Director of the MANCEF organizing committee said…”COMS has a well-established and highly-regarded legacy of being the only conference worldwide exclusively dedicated to addressing the commercialization of technology. While technology will be the basis of all of the presentations, our intent is to continue to address the successful processes and mechanisms to bring these technology-based products and services to the market in a timely fashion”.
Many of the presentations will address the manufacturing processes by which these emerging technologies become successful products. The conference has been quite fortunate to attract such a broad spectrum of world-renowned speakers who will address topics including:
· Customized and Novel Manufacturing Processes including Printed/Flexible and Functional Fabric Electronics
· Sensor Systems, Data Analytics and Smart Networks
· Commercialization of Emerging Sensor Technologies
· e-Health, Digital Health, Bioinformatics
· Commercialization Market Opportunities
· Barriers to Commercialization
Mr. Edward “Ted” Byrne, COMS Conference Coordinator and Exhibition Manager said…”The annual COMS event, in its 23rd.year, is the” jewel in the crown” of MANCEF and is expected to attract a broad spectrum of participants including those from the worldwide venture capital community, management level executives from the commercial technology community, institute technologists and regional and federal policy makers. Switzerland, being a worldwide hub of nano and microtechnology expertise, was a perfect location for our event”
